Hail and wind can damage a roof in ways you can’t see from the yard. We get on the roof, inspect it, and document its actual condition, so you know what the storm did and what it didn’t.
Storm damage isn’t always obvious from the ground
Hail bruises, cracked shingles, dented vents, and lifted flashing are hard to spot from the driveway. A roof can look fine and still have damage that lets water in later, and a roof with a few missing shingles may have nothing else wrong. The only way to know is a close look.
We document
We photograph and note what we find, damaged or not, so you have an accurate record.
We explain
We go over the findings with you in plain language: what’s damaged, what isn’t, and what it means for the roof.
We repair or replace when needed
If a repair will fix it, we repair it. If the condition of the roof justifies replacement, we explain why.
We inspect the whole roof system
We document the damage we find. We don’t create damage that isn’t there.
Shingles are only one part of the roof. After a storm we check the shingles and the rest of the system:
- Shingles: hail bruises, cracks, granule loss, and tabs creased or torn off by wind.
- Pipe boots: split or punctured collars around plumbing vents.
- Roof vents: dented, cracked, or split vents, and the flashing around them.
- Flashing: at walls, chimneys, and transitions, where wind can lift or bend the metal.
- Drip edge and roof edges: bent or loose metal at the eaves and rakes.
- Valleys: where two slopes meet and the most water runs.
- Gutters and other components: dents, pulled hangers, and damage to anything attached to the roof.
Every finding gets photographed and labeled: slopes, ridges, valleys, and penetrations. Residential and multifamily jobs get the same treatment: dated, accurate photos that show the roof’s real condition.

Storm damage doesn’t automatically mean a new roof
Some storm damage can be repaired. Other conditions may justify replacing the roof. We tell you which one your roof needs, and why.
When a repair makes sense
Damage is limited to a few shingles, a pipe boot, a vent, or a section of flashing or drip edge, and the rest of the roof is in good shape. A focused repair restores the roof without replacing what still works.
When replacement may be justified
Hail or wind damage is spread across several slopes, shingles are cracked or bruised throughout, or the roof was already near the end of its life. Patching that much damage usually doesn’t last.

We can document the roofing damage, prepare an estimate, explain the roofing scope, and go over the proposed work with you so it makes sense.
That includes the details that are easy to miss, like drip edge, flashing, valleys, and disposal. If you already have an estimate, we can walk you through how it compares with the work the roof needs. You don’t need to be a building-code expert. We’ll keep you informed from inspection to finished roof. If additional time or follow-up is needed, we’ll explain what’s happening.
